Medicines for Malaria Venture is a non-profit product-development partnership, based in Geneva and founded in 1999, that develops new antimalarial medicines. Its African calls fund scientists and institutions on the continent to work on malaria drug discovery. University of Malawi researchers are squarely in scope.

MMV 9th African Call for Proposals — Malaria Drug Discovery

Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) · Switzerland (Geneva)

MMV invites proposals from African scientists in four priority areas: (1) medicinal chemistry, novel molecules with confirmed antimalarial activity (EC50 < 10 µM) and a credible optimisation plan, especially compounds suitable for chemoprevention; (2) assay development and screening to support discovery or development of novel antimalarials; (3) computer-aided drug discovery using cheminformatic or bioinformatic approaches; (4) large molecules, biologics or oligonucleotides for malaria treatment or chemoprevention. Proposals must use the specified template.
