Social Science Research Council (SSRC)

The Social Science Research Council is an independent non-profit research council founded in 1923 in the United States, which has awarded more than twenty thousand fellowships and grants to researchers worldwide. It designs and administers fellowship and grant programmes on behalf of foundations and other funding partners, managing recruitment, peer review, award administration and reporting, alongside programmes of its own. Its portfolio spans doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships, research grants and network-building across the social sciences and humanities, and includes programmes designed for African scholars such as the African Peacebuilding Network. Applications are made directly through the Council's online portal.
