The European Commission's researcher-mobility service has a hub written specifically for Africa-based researchers. Its practical value is that it is a static, readable curation of opportunities that otherwise sit behind the EU Funding and Tenders Portal's JavaScript interface — it solves an access problem rather than adding new funders. Coverage spans all fields including social sciences and humanities, and the quarterly Africa newsletter is a low-effort way to keep sight of European fellowship rounds without monitoring each institute.

AMBER funds postdoctoral research in advanced multiscale biological imaging using Europe's major research infrastructures — synchrotron, neutron and structural biology facilities that do not exist in Malawi. Forty-seven positions are on offer across seven host institutions. This is the programme's final call: there will be no further AMBER rounds after this one.
