NetIAS — Network of European Institutes for Advanced Study

About this platform

An aggregator carrying the concurrent fellowship calls of more than a dozen European Institutes for Advanced Study. For UNIMA, the attraction is that residential fellowships in this network are among the few well-funded humanities and social science opportunities with no nationality bar, and at least one member institute runs a stream restricted to ODA-recipient countries — which favours Malawian applicants rather than merely tolerating them. Suitable for Humanities, Law and Social Science staff.

Getting access

No registration needed. Apply directly to the individual institute named in each call. Read each call's eligibility text carefully — the network is a noticeboard, and terms vary sharply between institutes.

ZiF Visiting Research Groups 2027–2028

Zentrum für interdisziplinäre Forschung (ZiF), Bielefeld University · Germany

ZiF funds small interdisciplinary teams to spend one to three months working together at Bielefeld's institute for interdisciplinary research. Unlike most European institute schemes, there is no requirement to already hold a European post: applicants may be based at a university or research institute in Germany or abroad, and a Malawi-based academic can be a lead convenor. That makes this the most straightforwardly usable European residency in this digest.
