Opportunities For Youth

About this platform

A high-frequency listings site covering every world region, with several posts a day. Despite the name, it is not restricted to youth schemes and regularly carries substantial research calls; its write-ups tend to be more detailed than most aggregators, often summarising eligibility, value and process rather than only linking out. That depth makes it useful as a first read on an unfamiliar call.

Innovate Africa Challenge 2026, 3rd Edition — AI-driven climate-smart agriculture

Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) · Italy

FAO and the Smart Africa Secretariat are seeking AI-driven climate-smart agriculture solutions to deploy and validate in five countries, and Malawi is one of the five — alongside Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda. The theme is deployment rather than discovery: precision agriculture and input optimisation, crop yield prediction, pest and disease surveillance and early warning, climate risk modelling and adaptive decision support, and water and natural resource optimisation. Winners receive deployment support, collaboration with government ministries, FAO technical expertise and validation in real agricultural settings.

Leveraging IFAD's Rural Sector Performance Assessment for Policy and Investment

International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) · Italy

IFAD is procuring a partner to strengthen its Rural Sector Performance Assessment — the instrument that scores countries' rural policy environments and helps drive IFAD's own investment allocations. The work is analytical and methodological rather than field research: improving how rural policy performance is measured, and making the resulting evidence usable for policy and investment decisions. Universities, think tanks and research institutes are named as eligible applicants alongside NGOs and private-sector organisations.

AWF 2026 Call for Proposals — Project Preparation Grants

African Water Facility (AWF) · Côte d'Ivoire

The African Water Facility, an initiative of the African Ministers' Council on Water administered by the African Development Bank Group, has launched its 2026 Call for Proposals under the AWF 2026–2030 Strategy. It funds project preparation studies—feasibility work, detailed engineering design, environmental and social assessment, transaction advisory, and financial structuring—that move identified water and sanitation investments toward bankability. AWF does not finance construction; it finances the preparatory work that lets a project attract downstream public or private investment.
